Diddyborg and batborg

Hi
I have finally assembled my diddy borg and he works fine. However, I am a little confused as to how the bat borg and piborgrev work together and how power is being supplied to the pi. is there a wiring diagram somewhere that explains how the set up works. The reason I ask, is i want to add extra sensors (ultrasonic and IR ) to the bot but don't seem to have access to the 5v pin. Any help would be appreciated.

cheers

DC Motor Surge

I've now fried three motor controllers with a 10A 24V DC motor. each time it would appear the mosfets explode during direction changes or stopping. How can I prevent this? and can someone send me a replacement mosfet that I can solder on for repair?

Piborg Hi Torque Stepper Motor Wiring

Hi all,

Have used the PiBorg Reverse on DC Motors fine.
Small Stepper Motors are also fine as the 5 wires match the colours on the "Getting Started" diagrams perfectly.

However I have two queries about the Hi Torque stepper motor:

1) What voltage will be required to run it? (I'm guessing 12 but don't want to blow anything up:-)

2) The Hi Torque Stepper Motor has,Blue, Red, Black and Green wires but these colours do not match the Getting Started Guide on what to plug into M1-, M1+, M2- and M2+

Replacing power on DiddyBorg

So, I finally ordered the DiddyBorg and UltraBorg to make myself a robot. However, I'm not that happy with the use of multiple batteries (14 AA's in total) so I'm considering replacing them all with Li-Po batteries but I need some help.

It is my understanding that I cannot use a standard 3.7V battery for the DiddyBorg so I'm shooting for a 7.2V or a 8.4V battery as has been discussed in another thread.

Diddyborg PS3 Control

Hi,

I've successfully built the Diddyborg and I'm using the ps3DiddyJoy.sh/DiddyJoy.sh (with a few modifications) script to control it with my PS3 controller. It all works flawlessly and it's awesome! Now I want to add some modifications to it to make it look cooler.
Is it possible to add in a line into the script (Using Python) to control an led with a button on the PS3 controller? I'm struggling to understand how to map a PS3 button to do things..

Thanks,
Sam

charging eneloops

I have a diddy borg, and as suggested in the build instructions, I am using a bunch of eneloop nimh batteries in the supplied battery holder. The annoying part of this is that every time the battery need to be charged, I need to pull them all out individually and load them into several chargers. Is there some kind of external nimh charger I could purchase that would hook directly to the entire battery pack at once?

control software

I am building my own model of a DiddyBorg designed for rough off road terrain.
I am not good at programing and am looking for the software to cantrol the motors via the PI with a controller.
Could i get some help with this thank you

DiddyBorg Top Plate Remix

I wanted to create a top plate that I could mount things on without having to destroy the original. So (naturally) I decided to 3D print one with the intention of adding mounts for LEDs and the MeArm etc.
Although I will still use it for it intended purpose, I did get a little carried away.
Let me know what you think, be honest, I can take it :-)
