Discussions and queries about PicoBorg Reverse

Hello everybody,
I've been trying to control a stepper motor with the picoborg reverse but all the stepper does is move erratically and make noise. I've already checked that I'm using the correct phases and that they are wired correctly to the picoborg. There are no issues with the board not being found.

I added in the file /etc/rc.local the line /home/... and saved the file as been told. This programm does not function. I' ve read that the sequence/Program has to be activated or something else. I do not know how to manage this. The same for WEB and Joystick.

He is still breathing but doesn't respond to PS3 commands. (Diddy is a Mk 1 DiddyBorg with a Pi 3B).
This evening (04/05/18) I did a "sudo apt-get update" followed by "sudo apt-get dist-upgrade". All seemed to go well but when I put the upgraded card back into Diddy I found that most of the commands issued by the PS3 controller were ignored. He still responded to 'backwards' and 'forwards' from the left stick but would not turn left or right and ignored other commands from various buttons.

Occasionally when I have a software crash on the Pi (which is quite often, as I mostly program on the fly), the Reverse board keeps powering the motors, sending me running after Diddy to switch off the batteries before he scratches the sideboard - not to be recommended when the Pi is in an uncertain state as it risks corrupting the SD card.

I have a Diddyborg Red from about 3 years ago. I've just tried to run the follow ball example but keep getting a camera error

Greetings!
I was wondering if it is possible to integrate ROS on a DiddyBorg that uses PicoBorg and BattBorg for its movements. I was looking into picture streaming (USB camera -> RPi Wifi -> Laptop). And since ROS incorporates OpenCV by default it might be practical to connect robots DC motor movements with image proccessing. Is this possible? Any info on this would be much appreciated.
Kind regards,

Hi, how would I use this script without the camera streaming but rather have a preview constantly on and viewed on a screen?
Thanks

Hello,
5/6 of my motors were aligned properly to their mounts and I had no issue screwing them in. However, in one of my motor mounts the screw holes did not align with those on the motor. See images of a normal motor mount and the misaligned one below.

Thunderborg has:
1. LED light
2. PWM controlled motor drivers
3. Wider input voltage range
Anything else I'm missing ?? :)

Hi
Assuming I switch the battery pack off, is it OK to power the DiddyBorg through the standard Raspberry Pi USB power source? I’m not too worried if the motors don’t work, just need a bit of reassurance that I won’t damage the ThunderBorg card. I would like to be able to power up the Pi to install code.
Thanks
